Autumn Visitors

Well it’s perhaps not going to cause the sort of twitch that the probable Acadian Flycatcher did on the south coast yesterday, but great to see this female Blackcap in the garden today.

I do love the Autumn, things just suddenly change and even the local birds behave differently. We very rarely get anything but Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Dunnock, Blue, Great and Coal Tits in the garden, but these have all increased in number lately.

A Chiff-chaff has become a daily visitor over the last week as well, feeding on insects around the borders and even using the bird bath.

The Blackcap was attracted in by the berries on the Berberis and Cotoneaster bushes. I just managed this sneaky shot from the office window.
